In case you are wondering how long Never lasts, the answer is 27 Days.
Not even a month. Not even a February.
That is how long it has been since we made our Never announcements of the things that would never happen here. Since then Willen has stopped knocking down the fence - well he's probably just taking a break, 27 days is not a no-knockdown record.
Then Fred woke up one morning and realized that, since his legs are about four feet long, he could just step over the sagging fence in the back-up buck pen. He went walkabout, following his nose.
And wonder of wonders miracle of miracles it now appears - "APPEARS," says the farmer, with a high degree of skepticism, when people ask - that Pebbles is bred.
So now we have the thankless task of beginning the quest for Pebbles baby names, which should somehow evoke the names of the Pebble baby parents (Promisedland Chaotic Bliss, aka Chaos, and Herron Hill EJ Pendleton, aka Pebbles). Chaos, euphoria, tiny rocks, rodeo towns in Oregon.
Taller name orders have not much been filled. Also should start with E.
Euphoregon? Estonia Joy?

Eugene of course or Eugenia
Estrogen Effect should work. You can call her Este' to make it seem more more...
Something with "entropy" maybe?
Oregon = Eugene, Estacada, Elgin, Echo, Elkton ... rodeo town, hmmm, well with enough libation you could have a rodeo anywhere? =) Minerals = Emery, Emerald, Esmeralda but then you think of Bewitched and that might offend Pebbles. Other ideas: Everdeen (Go Catniss!), Ebony, Eda, Etta, Eden, Effie, Ellie Mae, Elsa, ... Crumpet, look I'm clever too.
Listen, I, of all people, would LOVE to have the honor of naming Pebbles baby(ies) IF the farmer is right and I so hope she is and the reason I should have the honor is I have been Pebbles non-stop champion ever since I learned about her imperiously elegant win at the fair and I have never let Crumpet or the Terror or any of the other beings or goings on at Herron Hill push aside her memory and no, of course I cannot come up with a name without seeing the babies so please the rest of you hold back and let me, Crumpet's mid-west publicity manager, be in charge of Pebbles as I love her so much!!!!!!!
I, for one, and you can count my shepherdess as two, vote that Ozarks Goat Girl be able to name Pebble's babies, if the farmer chooses to give over that honor. So please just strike my earlier comment and all those silly names right out of your memory banks. OK? And by the way, I feel the same way about Crumpet as Ozarks Goat Girl feels about Pebbles, just in case anyone wants to know.
Ember sounds nice. Is Chaos black?
I am a little worried that if Crumpet is so small, and Chaos is regular size, the baby will tend to be larger than might fit inside her comfortably, or exit without damage. I guess you thought of that beforehand, though.
So I've been thinking and thinking of names for Pebbles' babies though still on edge because the goatfarmer says "APPEARS to be bred" with a high degree of skepticism which leaves room for doubt. I can only hope for updates as to Pebbles growing girth and lessening of that skepticism on the part of the farmer. P.G., you and your shepherdess are jewels to understand my desire to name these babies, but I say everyone keep the name suggestions coming and then I will narrow them down and present them to Pebbles and the goatfarmer who, of course, have final say in the matter.
Being the philosophical type, I pick Erudite..with the Greek pronunciation. You know,Er-you-dight-EE? :)
The New York TMFGITW chapter will of course dutifully submit their entries for the theoretical babies' names for Ozarks Goat Girl, Midwest Chapter president, to add to her list, but they will probably all be awful. Just awful.
Meanwhile, hooray for Never! About time it arrived!
Dear Jessica, esteemed New York TMFGITW chapter president, your baby name suggestions are very welcomed even if they are awful. They might be more appealing than you realize because it seems the goatfarmer likes names the rest of us would not necessarily choose--ahem, Chaos, Binky, Moldy...
Dear Millie, it has been 11 days since your last post. My life seems to be hanging on that one word "APPEARS." Please report if in these past 11 days the goatfarmer is placing less emphasis on this word or more. Thank you.
Pacing, tapping hoof ... Millie is everything OK? Has that "cute as a button but awfully naughty" Sammy been keeping you and the farmer too busy to visit us here? Has she developed a crush on Crush, wink wink, and gone on walk about again to see him?
Eulalie.
