D

It is a D Year. We have a ways to go, but because of the intellectual bankruptcy problem we need to start getting other people's ideas now so we can fill up the name cabinet before we need it. So this is where you will enter your D names. Only enter good ones we already have a lot of bad ones. Just fyi the work you do in this area will be thankless and in fact if you think of a really good name the intellectual bankruptcy coupled with the selective amnesia will probably result in the farmer taking credit for your idea which has already happened with a lot of my ideas but that's the way it goes.

D Names for the D Year of 2013:

1. Downton

2. Dollop

3. (your name here)

ps - also please do not steal any of the names that you see here that we are stealing from other people. These are our names and we do not want them stolen. It is hard enough stealing them in the first place. Thank you. And also remember we will need some belle names but they have to start with D. please do not enter dbelle the farmer already thought of that. also please be safe out there and avoid meteors.

  1. If you name a goat Diddy (who is, I hear, a very popular entertainer) then when someone does a google " Diddy" search, that person will find your goat instead of the singing artist. Actually, if you were to post a video of your baby Diddy goat bleating, and title it "Diddy Singing" then you'll get lots of traffic to this blog. Then again, maybe you don't want to be troubled with fame.

That's all the spring to mind at the moment.

Of course you could use Dumbelle, but I don't know if any goat would appreciate being named that.
You could go with a flower theme:
    Daisy
    Daffodil
    Day-lily
    Dogwood
(and as the other folks posted):
    Dandelion
    Dahlia

    How about
    DamnIt!
    or a cleaner version
DangIt! although you may already be calling some of your goats by these names even though it is not their real names but if you are then it would only complicate things and we can't have that. How about Doozy?

Oh, yeah, and another thought because I am nothing if not a fount of thoughts at your service, how about coming up with "Indian" names, you know names that are more descriptive than just regular names like
    "Don't Butt Me"
    or
    "Dirty Face"
    or
    "Dancing Feet"
    or
"Delightful Little Doe Who Can't Get Enough Grain"
oh, wait, that last one would be Crumpet.

You said to post "your name here" but my name starts with a "P" not a "D" Or in the case of this blog my names starts with an "A." As usual this blog is very confusing.

If my name did start with a "D," I would want it to be Door Belle so that everyone would call me Dory. I like that name.

  12. The first thought that popped into my head was Dingleberry. Now that's the only name I can think of. It is blocking all other thoughts. Plus making me laugh to myself a little bit....not much help, I know....Stevie@ruffledfeathersandspilledmilk.com

I think I really like Dora Belle, so I may steal that name as a suggestion. Well it came from an Unknown...so that's not really stealing, is it??
No wait...on second thought...and I have plenty of those...it sounds too much like Door Belle and we can't have that so let me think about this!

  14. If I were to choose Dark Matter, I would be avoiding meteors. However it does begin with 'D'. If you were to choose Destruction, it would be a good idea because if you choose it first, it will not happen. Beating it to the punch, so to speak. Of course there is Dudgeon, in case it is high. As for the Belles, well, Dandy Belle, Dimple Belle, Dragon Belle (although this is the year of the Snake), Detach A Belle, Debate A Belle, Declar A Belle, Delect A Belle, Demand A Belle (in case of Alpine blood), Demon Stra Belle, Deni A Belle, Deplor A Belle, Desire A Belle, Despic A Belle, Disagree A Belle (again in case of Alpine blood), Dur A Belle...well, you get the picture.

  15. Hmm. Diddy. Maybe we should all change our name to Diddy. M-Diddy. C-Diddy. B-Diddy. J-Diddy. And all the P-Diddies. (Pebbles, Pinky, Pinky jr etc). Hmm.

  16. How about sinething a little exotic? There's "Djibouti" (a city) or "Djinni" (Arabic for 'genie', which is also how it's pronounced.)

  17. Dilbert
    Delta Dawn

But, a Diddy video would be hard to beat.

  18. Sorry but Daisy is mine as in Oopsie Daisy for one of CB's doelings. Also one of the bucklings will be called Danger.

I know not to get caught up in this name game. You never like any of my names and I end up trying to steal yours.

  19. I call my dog Moxie the Devilish Clam. No idea why, but feel free to steal it.

Wow, "Dora Belle" really is great, what a good one, if it hasn't been done already.

Doozy Belle, that has a certain ring to it that I really like too.

All of Marigold's punnish ones are awesome too.

    Suggestions from me:

    Danger
    Dapper
    Dapple

    Meh.

  31. Daralagjazsky? What the hay is that? Might be worth naming a goat that just so you could say you did. It is rather a mouthful though. I prefer Peanuts for that.

Hey what happened to my comment from yesterday...it just went poof!! I just said that Diddy Belle was the perfect name and I didn't like Ding Dong Belle or Dura Belle...for obvious reasons..who wants to be a Ding Dong Battery!

  33. Dinner belle is my favorite of the above names - seems like your goats are a bit obsessed with food. Other options:
    Dunkin' Donut
    Doughnut (with sprinkles)
    Doughboy
    Denzil
    Daisy Chain
    Dumbo
    Dumb Belle
    Della Ware
    Denmark
    Danish Belle
    Danish (as in pastry)
    Danube
Dell (as in a wooded glade, or computer - your choice)
    Delight
    Devonshire Cream (with the Crumpet)
    Devil's Food Cake
    Diva
    Diamond Belle
    Diamond in the Rough
    Devi

Tired out now - so much brainwork to come up with names!
